How can that be? I don't even have a 2014 list up yet for what I've finished this year. I suppose that will have to wait until my Christmas vacation comes around. Heck, I might get that list up along with a new list for 2015.
I have been quite busy on the quilting part of my life so here is just a few photos for you.
Here is a sampling of the jelly roll quilt(s) I mentioned in my last post. Right now I have 4 separate sections and I'm trying to decide if I want one really large quilt or perhaps 2 small quilts. I think I will go with the 2 smaller ones so 2 people can enjoy them, whoever they might end up being for.
Oh geez - what a teaser! I don't see that one on my thumb drive yet. Next time - I promise!
However, I do have a few photos of some 6 Pocket Purses I made for co-workers for Christmas. I pulled all the fabrics from my stash and think I made around 17 of them.
They were fun to make and I hope they all like them.
I still haven't gotten too far with the quilt frame. I spent a day reading the directions and getting my sewing machine on the carriage - didn't have any thread in a spool large enough to put on the spool holding area which turned in to looking at the stores for machine thread on large spools of which I could find none - in the end I found one in a drawer downstairs in the quilt room! So, I get it all threaded (like they said in the manual) - THEN they tell me I need to put my leaders on - don't know how to do that yet - and have to take this pole off and that pole off and re-put all them back on again - I need to see the video I suppose. And I'm sure that once I do it all, I will wonder what took me so long to get to it - but for now it seems like it will take me forever so in the meantime, the frame sits there just waiting for that right moment for me to get to it. The moment hasn't come yet.
Well, earlier I went downstairs to turn on the small heater I have - it was 55 degrees, just a tad too chilly to work in there. Came upstairs to throw a turkey in the oven for dinner tonight - not really 2 days late with that as we had ham on Thanksgiving and now are having the turkey before son #2 heads back to college tomorrow.
Katie is still in Pensacola - guess what she is STILL doing? Since the end of March - STILL waiting to be assigned to a school! 8 months. I know the military is a hurry up and wait sort of institution as DH and I have served our 20 years or more each, but I think this one takes the cake. Isn't it nice to know your tax dollars are going to new Marines sitting around and waiting to be assigned to a school so they can do a job?
Off to The Cotton Patch to see what trouble I can get myself in to. Probably won't see you until around Christmas when I have time to sit and type. Let's see what I get finished so I can post photos then. :)
