2 MORE QUILTS FINISHED

Here is the 2 Color Challenge Quilt I finished up in June.  We pulled 3 crayons from a bag and I thought the directions were to use only those colors.  If needed, you could just use 2 of the colors.  I pulled the blue/violet and the black from my stash.  I also have a beautiful tree backing in purples.
I must have understood the directions wrong because it seems I was the only one in the group that only used the colors pulled.  Well, what is the challenge in that if you could use more colors?

And here is the Blue/Green Pine Block wall hanging.  It is from a pattern by Donna Poster with her foldy stuff technique.  Seems I have misplaced (not lost), the pattern because I thought there were other variations I could use but after some searching, decided not to waste any more time and turn this into a wall hanging.  I love it.

Must scoot!

Red/White Quilt top

The idea for me to make a red and white quilt came from my friend, Blondie.  She did a smaller version of one and I fell in love with it.  The pattern I used was taken from a Quilts & More (2006) magazine and the fabric is from Missouri Star Quilt Company (Windham Fabrics, by Mary Koval).  The pattern called for 6 1/2" squares and 1 1/2" strips so I adapted it to a layer cake and jelly roll.  I did add 2 additional fabrics from my stash.  I think I will wait to quilt it until after I attend a machine quilt class in Hershey that is on July 28th.  Maybe I will be able to do more than just a simple meander.
It feels good to be able to update where I am in the process of making this quilt.  Surely can't call it DONE cause there is still lots to add to it - quilting design and binding.  I hope it gets finished this summer yet.  I don't think I am going to add a border to it, I like it just the way it is.

Off to see what else I can dabble in today
