Odie surprised us on Thursday night with his presence for the next 2 weeks. To say we are excited is the very least we can say.
He's had his special request of a lasagne dinner and tonight he was standing in the kitchen waiting for some homecooked food.
I think I need a quilty photo for the top of my blog. I do love the ocean though so that should be my 2nd choice. I'll have to poke around my Flicker album and see what I can put in there.
I counted the tyes in the Tree of Life quilt. There are 540 of them. I also measured it and the whole thing is 92x115" and that turns into about 425" of binding. I need to re-measure just to make sure before I start making the binding. Just think, once this is done I can start another project!!
Well, tada for now. Dry clothes from the dryer are finished and another load goes in.
Think I'll walk down the hall and just take a look at my boy who is home for a bit.
Tada,
Trish

I HAVE MY SUMMER LIST READY!
... for Summer vacation! It starts in 23 days. The past 20 some days went fast. I have been working on my Tree of Life quilt. I was down at the church last night for about 3 hours - putting in 120 pins to mark where I needed to tye the quilt from the back. There are another 100 or more tyes at the bottom and on the sides of the quilt. Now all I have to do is measure the beast and get the binding made and put on. I had planned on doing that after school today, but I think the pinning and making all those tyes just plum wore me out today so I took about an hour nap with the kitty. I don't think he is feeling too good today. He usually greets me in the morning with very LOUD meow's and again when I get home from school. He didn't do that today. He has a large lump on his tail and won't let me touch it. I'll see how he is doing in the next day or so before I decide if he needs to go see the vet next week. It's almost like he got it caught in something.
Rain tonight but looks like it will clear up for the next 2 or 3 days which is a good thing. I need to get some clothes on the lines. Anytime I can use God's weather to dry the fabrics, the more I save and not send my monies to the electric people.
I am caught up with the small applique project I am doing for my class in Hershey. Now if I can get caught up with my BOM blocks, I'd be a real happy camper!
Remember to look for the 'blessing' from today. Mine was taking a nap with my kitty while the world went by.
Tada,
Trish

THE FIRST 100 DAYS IN THE NEW YEAR
Wow - plans change ~SNAP!~ just like that!! I went from wanting to organize my quilty things in Katie's room and the basement to MOVING my quilty things in her room TO the basement and spent most of Saturday organizing it all downstairs. Katie is home and also brought along her friend and her friend's dog. (I am NOT a dog person.) She is a good dog, but - no, I don't want to keep her, no, I don't want to take her to the woods for her potty business - I just don't want her to take me down the hill like another friends dog did. I was on the ground in an instant being pulled along by an animal that was much stronger than myself. And, not saying anything about my shirt being ruined I had on at the time with grass stains from that little escapade!
Just finished mentioning to someone on a quilt site about my Blog here and how it's fun to have one, but have to figure out the Follower section (had 1 Follower who has now disappeared - think I accidentally deleted her) and the Comment section (either no one has anything to say about what I've written or they aren't able to comment for some reason that I haven't figured out yet). I do admit I am not the brightest Blog writer out there, but I try.
So - what have I accomplished the first 100 days of this glorious year? Not much. How could those days have gone so fast? Who took them? Is it really April 9th? I have about 40 school days left until Summer vacation. I always have plans - mostly quilty plans - and do tend to get lots done when I don't have to go to work where I mostly listen to kids whine most of the day. If they would just do their schoolwork, it would actually take less energy to get it finished than by adding the whining attached to it.
Oh - so back to the beginning. I finally got my quilty things organized in the basement! I now know where my needle threaders and seam rippers are. Sometimes it's the little gadgets that are handy that mean the most. Especially when you waste time looking for something you just KNOW you have! All the to-do-projects are in closed containers so little basement buggies can't get to them. I even have a written list of where they are so when I feel like it's their turn to be worked on, I can go right to them and grab onto them. How organized am I!!
Well, need to scoot for now. I feel the need to get SOMEthing accomplished on my last day of Spring break.
Tada, Trish
